The team of Strategic Health Services has significant experience in the fields of wellness, preventive health, condition/disease management, and the development of programs, tools and technology to support population health trend management.


Jonathan R. Javors, Chief Medical Director

Actively involved with health care reform for more than a decade, Dr. Javors has been a practicing, Board certified orthopedic surgeon since 1985. He is a recognized authority on the nation's health care delivery system and has been called on to author legislative proposals on health care reform and to testify before the U.S. Congress and Indiana Legislature on many occasions.

He is an appointed member of the Indiana Health Care Development Commission and the ArcelorMittal Steel Physician Steering Committee.

In addition to his medical training, he received his Doctor of Laws degree in health law and policy from Loyola University Chicago School of Law in 2000 and MBA from Purdue University in February, 2001.


Susan McGory, President

Leading health trend management companies to design and develop more effective programs and technology, Ms. McGory has supported health insurance brokers and small/mid-sized employers with the tools to better manage healthcare expenses. Since 2005, she has effectively led technology, customer service and operational teams, moving consumer directed health care organizations from start-up through ongoing stages of successful growth and product delivery.

From 1994 to 2004, McGory was a senior executive with CNA Financial Corporation. As COO for the $1.3 billion CNA Life and Long-term Care Division, she was responsible for operations, product development, finance, technology, marketing, distribution, 1,200 employees and 1.4 million policy-holders.

Before joining CNA, she was AVP/Controller for Mid-land Mutual Life Insurance Company.

McGory holds a Bachelors in Business Administration degree in Finance and Management from Texas A&M. She is published in numerous insurance journals and served on several national boards.


Dave McKee, VP, Business Development

Developing business alliances and key distribution partnerships, Mr. McKee has been involved in health management. From 2003 he served as EVP of Development for American Healthcare Partnership (AHCP).

McKee was an entrepreneur building and developing successful companies in multiple market segments.

His career began as a specialist in international taxation with Arthur Andersen & Co.

McKee is a graduate of Wittenberg University and received his MBA from the University of Denver. He is also an active member of the World Presidents Organization (WPO), Chair of the Advisory Board, Genomics Medicine Institute, Cleveland Clinic, and a Certified Public Accountant.


Laurie Maxson, R.N, Director of Health Management Services

With over 17 years of clinical experience, Ms. Maxson is a Registered Nurse with expertise in multiple medical settings including hospital, nursing home, medication and disease management. She also has extensive experience as a cardiac floor nurse and has managed several targeted CHF programs. A graduate of Sewickley Valley School of Nursing, Ms. Maxson is also a certified Intrinsic Coach and has served in the development of several key health trend management programs including Targeted Interventions and Quality Transition for Hospital Readmissions.


Sally Balsewich, R.N. MPH CPHQ, Director of Patient Transition Services

Ms. Balsewich has 25 years experience as a Registered Nurse with more than 20 years experience in managed care settings with large physician groups, home health agencies, insurance and regulatory agencies. She has a B.S.N. from Elmhurst College and a Masters Degree in Public Health/Health Care Administration from Illinois Benedictine University. Ms. Balsewich has extensive experience in utilization review, quality management and case management and has managed several programs and health initiatives in these areas. Ms. Balsewich is a Certified Professional in Healthcare Quality and has served in the development of projects supporting patient safety and targeted interventions to prevent hospital readmissions.
